My very first Avatar costume, which I like to affectionately refer to as "Hobo Zuko". This costume was the first (and last) time I ever worked with burlap. Love the texture and look of it, but apparently when you cut it, about a zillion fibers are cut loose, getting all over your living room, house, and even in your nose. D:
I'm a big fan of any costume that allows for different textiles, which this definitely did. Besides the burlap, I used different moleskin and suedecloth for the trim, boot covers, and wrist wraps.
I get a lot of questions about my scar, which was made using a combination of small pieces of ripped tissue paper, liquid latex, and assorted grease-based paints. I'll try to see about putting up a tutorial on my blog. : )
